Finally, Indian students aspiring to UK student visa can take a sigh of relief. The UK government has announced an update to the ‘Red-Amber-Green’ traffic light ratings for arrivals into England. Effective from 8 August, India is moved from the Red to the Amber list. What does this mean? This means students, or for that matter, any Indians, now planning to travel to the UK will not need to be quarantined in a government facility compulsorily.

Isn’t that a big relaxation? Well, when one decides to study abroad, he already faces tons of challenges including IELTS preparation and finding a good student visa consultant. Moreover, through this pandemic time, many students chose online IELTS preparation, which was even more of a challenge in the beginning.

After that, students struggle to get an offer letter to the right university in the UK. Getting an offer letter for a degree in the UK is not as easy as it looks. Only a good student visa consultant like ESPIOnline.in in India can process the same for you quickly.

Moving on, after going through all these struggles, students who wished to travel to the UK were earlier required to complete a 14-day quarantine at a hotel to be booked through the UK government. This costed the students anywhere between GBP 1750 to GBP 3000. It was not only pocket-heavy but also, time consuming, and a tedious process.

After being moved to the amber list, Indians, on reaching UK can now complete a reduced 10-day quarantine period at home or any other place of their choice. Now, the quarantine rule for staying in a hotel is not mandatory as per the updated rules of COVID-19 guidelines by the UK government.

Although the quarantine rules have been relaxed, the testing rules remain the same. Under the voluntary Test to Release scheme, students can choose to pay for a private Covid-19 test on day 5 of the quarantine. Apart from that, students are required to pay for 2 test kits right from India, one for day 2 and another for day 8.

If your COVID 19 TEST result is negative, you can end your quarantine and get back to the normal routine. Most importantly, students need to ensure that they take a test within 72 hours prior to their departure.
